Tennent’s Light’s SpotLight Project offering £5,000 bursaries to Scottish creatives

on 26 October 2021 0

As the cultural world begins to emerge from a tumultuous period in history, Tennent’s Light are offering a much-needed injection of funds to five Scottish creatives through their new SpotLight Project.

Dubbed “Scotland’s soundest pint”, those in charge of the less calorific edition of Wellpark brewery’s classic lager are living up to their name by pledging to give 3.5% of every bottle or pint sold to grassroots culture.

The first step in their plan to give a proposed £250k to the sector, the SpotLight Project’s funds are available to everyone from musicians and writers to fashion designers, artists and a whole lot more. In essence, provided that you’re over 18 and live in Scotland, this £5,000 could be yours and Tennent’s Light want to hear from you.

Beyond the cash that’ll help to bring your project to fruition, you’ll also be given access to professional mentoring from figures such as Bash The Entertainer, Hayley Scanlan and producer Nightwave as well as practical advice on career development. In order to be in with a shout of scooping one of the five grants, all you need to do is fill out the online form and detail your idea in under 500 words. Couple that with some links to your previous work and you’re done. However, we should add that you shouldn’t delay as applications close on Sunday 31st October.

And for those who are applying, good luck!
