Ramsden Framing Co: Jon Ramsden moves into Paisley

From side hustle to centre stage: Ramsden Framing Co moves into the heart of Paisley to a new studio in The Art Department

If you’ve stepped inside The Art Department on Causeyside Street recently, you already know it has breathed vibrant new life into Paisley’s old Argos building. Now, the creative hub has a fantastic new resident.

Local photographer and master craftsman Jon Ramsden has officially moved his operation into a beautiful new studio space on the second floor.

After spending 12 successful years operating out of Hillington, Jon is back in his hometown – and he couldn’t be happier to be working in the centre of Paisley.

Many locals will already know Jon through the lens of Jon Ramsden Photography. With a photography degree spanning back to 1996 and over 400 weddings under his belt across the UK, Jon has built a reputation for capturing exquisite, timeless contemporary wedding and portrait photography.

But over the last few years, another one of Jon’s talents has been quietly taking over. What originally started out as a passionate side hustle to complement his photography has rapidly evolved into Ramsden Framing Co.

Jon’s framing business has taken off at such a pace that it ultimately prompted the move to this expansive new Paisley workshop.

The bespoke framing side of things keeps him so busy these days that it leaves him with much less time to build guitars in his spare time! Not that Jon is complaining.

Whether you have a treasured family photo, a newly acquired painting, or a piece of local history, Jon’s meticulous eye for detail ensures your memories are perfectly preserved.

He creates stunning, bespoke rounded-corner frames using premium solid woods like ash, oak, and black walnut, often accented with custom maple spline joinery.

Because every framing job is uniquely custom-tailored to the piece, appointments are highly recommended so you can sit down and discuss the perfect border, glass, and wood combination for your project.

If you have a photo, painting, sports shirt, or a quirky piece of memorabilia that deserves a spot on your wall, support local craftsmanship and get in touch with Jon today.
