Scotsmosis by Susan Gazzola Black
Scotsmosis
A poem by Susan Gazzola Black
Susan is an American from New York who has been living in Paisley for 14 years. Scotsmosis sums up her adventure of how she met her husband and moved to her new homeland.
I am a New Yorker by birth
And I’ve traveled a lot on this earth
At age forty three
I happened to be
In Edinburgh
The Fringe Festival
My first…
I so fell in love with the place
I had a pure smile on my face
The Scots were so cool
No one was a tool
Just friendly & oh so fast paced
In 2009 I did find
That Internet Dating was kind
I met Scottish Cameron
My heart started hammering
And back here
to his homeland
was I.
I’ve been here now for 14 years
And staying I am with no fears
My life is my own now
Dear Paisley’s my home now
And as for New York
New York
I’m shedding
no tears…
