Eclipse Hair and Beauty celebrates 40 years in business

Eclipse Hair and Beauty in Johnstone celebrated their 40th year in business in October, we caught up with the founder of the salon, Linda Carruthers, to find out more about this family enterprise

“I started Eclipse Hair & Beauty way back in October of1983. When I retired a couple of years ago, I passed the business to my youngest daughter Rachel who worked alongside me for 12 years prior. My eldest daughter Laura works behind the scenes answering enquiries via social media and organising appointments.

“As a salon, we’re delighted to be celebrating 40 years in business and owe thanks to all of our clients for their loyalty and support, we wouldn’t be here without you. We also need to extend a big thanks to staff past and present who’ve helped to shape the salon to what it is today. 

“Our current experts are Rachel, Kim and Lynsey. Rachel does beautiful colour transformations using up to the minute products and techniques including root melt, babylights and balayage amongst other popular finishes. Kim, like Rachel, is very passionate about her work and offers the same level of expertise. Lynsey rounds off the trio with her range of beauty treatments including nail extensions, builder gel (BIAB), amazing advanced nail art, waxing and lash lifts.

“At the moment, our most popular treatment is Cocochoco Keratin Blow-dry, it’s a total game changer for those with unruly curls but dream of silky smooth hair. Plus, there’s Cocochoco Botox which is a big seller for those wanting to retain curls but tame the frizz.

“After 40 years in business, we are still 100% committed to making the people of Johnstone and beyond look and feel good, that really is what our business is focused on.”
