Orchard Clinic in Paisley introduce a laser therapy treatment

After facing some niggling issues, Paul Dickson visits Orchard Clinic in Paisley to try laser therapy

I have suffered from tendonitis on my Achilles heel for most of this year, making it uncomfortable when I am running. So, I no longer do so unless I’m having a bit of fun chasing my kids.

Recently, I came across a post from Orchard Clinic in Paisley promoting their new laser therapy which can help this condition. Wasting no time, I booked in for the recommended four sessions of treatment with practitioner Jack Connell. Having assessed my heel, he was confident he’d have me running again in no time.

Before the laser therapy commences, Jack massages the area between my calf and heel using special tools. Due to having tendonitis, this area is sore and this part of the procedure borders on tolerable to agony.

It’s a simple case of no pain, no gain though. Jack must get the tendon in the best possible shape for the laser to work. The laser itself, by comparison, is warm and painless.

After the first treatment, I could feel a difference. I was aware of pain in my heel, but it was no longer such an imposition. Four sessions later, the swelling has visibly reduced, and the pain has subsided substantially.

A week after the fourth treatment, I was encouraged to try running again, one kilometre at a time and gradually building up to what used to be my usual 5k. So, it definitely works.

Laser therapy is also helpful for plantar fasciitis, neuropathy, muscle spasm, arthritis, sprains and strains, knee pain, bursitis, tendonitis, haematoma, oedema and a wide variety of sports injuries.

Orchard Clinic offer a wide range of podiatry and holistic treatments. To find out more, call 0141 889 6929 or visit their website.
