City of Temple – Kathmandu restaurant opens soon in Paisley
City of Temple – Kathmandu is the new authentic Nepalese and Indian restaurant opening on Moss Street, Paisley, on Wednesday 14 October 2026.
Rabi Maharjan, owner of the thriving and multi-award-winning Dé Buddha in Johnstone, has always wanted to open a restaurant in Paisley. When Grand Fusion recently vacated this property, he knew he had found the perfect location.

As with Dé Buddha, Rabi has gone to great lengths to create a warm and welcoming dining space. Traditional elements like prayer wheels and sculptures have been flown over directly from Nepal, and an artist spent ten days in Paisley hand-painting stunning artwork on the walls.
What can you expect on the menu? Guests can look forward to the same exceptional food that makes Dé Buddha one of the top contenders for Nepalese cuisine in Scotland.
Thanks to a much larger kitchen in the new premises, the menu will expand to include a wider range of additional Indian dishes, alongside plenty of gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options.
In time, perhaps early 2027, Rabi plans to offer takeaway and delivery.

We first met Rabi three years ago when he opened Dé Buddha. The incredible success he has achieved since – including being named Unsung Hero of the Year 2026 for the Nepalese Community – is a testament to his dedication and culinary skill.
This national award recognised his quiet, dedicated work behind the scenes supporting his culture, his restaurant, and the wider Nepalese community in Scotland.
We wish Rabi and his team the very best and look forward to visiting City of Temple – Kathmandu when it opens!
Please note: The restaurant is located upstairs and does not have lift access.
